Recap of last years’ Bacchanalia at the Lakeside – to help you do some planning.

Tasting at 20 wineries left me standing, not staggering. And an entire 40 wineries left out in the cold. Festival favorites – 8th Generation, which was a new winery discovery for me. Loved the 8th Riesling. A big YES to the Chardonnay at Cana Vines. Definitely taste the Malbec Rosé from Riverstone. The Rosé sells out fast – so if you want any; better confirm with the owners on release dates.

Pick up a bottle of Riverstone Gewurztraminer as well. Robin Ridge puts out a descent Gamay. Rustic Roots Organic winery made me want to come home and cook Thai for their Apple Pear – Dry Still White.

Hung out on the Tightrope sipping everything from Viognier, Pinot Gris to Merlot. Would have been happy to stay longer…though the oyster table beckoned. 98% of the crowd was dressed beautifully. If you wore jeans, you stuck out like a sore thumb. I came home with chocolate on my white dress as well as on my gold sweater. Not a pretty sight.
